The property is gorgeous but the customer service is most disappointing. This was our third visit to this property as we were most impressed the first two times . This time the customer service was appalling, disappointing and most upsetting for a property of this magnitude . We had a written confirmation of the cost of the 3 nights for 2 rooms . Upon arrival I confirmed the price just to make sure . When we went to check out in the evening , we were given a bill for a totally different amount for the rooms . There was a difference of 1000 US dollars . We showed them our confirmation and after keeping us at the desk for over an hour , from 10.00 pm till 11:30 they could not figure it out . There was no manager or anyone with some common sense that could help us . We were supposed to depart early next day , but again waisted over an hour with the duty manager who was totally useless and had no interest in helping us .She was adamant we pay the full wrong price even though we had proof and confirmation of the original price. There was NO effort made to help us or come to a fair compromise. As we were anxious to leave after wasting more time ,and she was not accommodating, we paid the bill and left. We will never return to this property again. There was no reason or explanation. They paid no attention to what our confirmation said . We have travelled the world and never experienced this from any property , especially a supposedly 5 star property like this. Very disappointing and most unprofessional. Certainly not a 5 star hotel .

The experience was very Royal, mesmerizing and memorable. My parents and my wife and both daughters and myself, just loved the grand welcome at the entrance and live traditional music, the beautiful rooms, the celebrity Chef's food which was sumptuous. We experienced the grandeur of Umaid Bhawan palace in our entire stay. All the lady hosts were very hospitable, showed our rooms showed us the palace and ensured that we were comfortable. The live traditional music in the lobby as well as at Pillars restaurant was wonderful. Rooms were very Royal. Thank you Chef Chander Singh Ji for taking care of all our 3 meals and and taking so good care of us. My mother herself being a very good cook has seen TV shows of Chef Chander and was happy to meet in person and enjoy the chef's cuisines. All the dishes were so tasty and the tastes still lingers in our mouth. At Risala, Pillars and Trophy bar our experience was royal and very beautiful. Thank you Mr Sadique, Jaber and Narendra Singh for your great hospitality. Kids loved the cookie making, cocktail making, Horse riding session, peacock feather hunt. Thank you for these activities. We loved seeing and feeding the peacocks in the morning at Pillars restaurant. Above all I would like to thank the overall head Mr Nitish Williamson for taking so good care of us and making the stay so warm and memorable. A year and half back we went to Taj Lake palace to celebrate my parents anniversary and we came to Taj Umaid Bawan palace to celebrate my birthday. Thank you Taj for the awesome hospitality shown on both occasions. Thank you to the entire Umaid Bhawan Palace team for the great memories that we would cherish forever. The souvenirs were a very warm and royal gesture and everybody loved them.

We spent two extraordinary days here, from the pompous and warm welcome, to the upgrade to a suite, the great food in the evening and at breakfast in a woderful ambience in the garden with traditional music and above all the great service of the staff, woh offered me such a personalised surprise for my birthday.

I would highly recommend this palace hotel - it is nothing like we ever experienced before . just want to add that when booking plan to have a full day just a the hotel to really take advantage of all it has to offer, you will recharge and leave feeling like royalty.

Money can help buy to enter your place , but nothing can buy more space in your stomach to eat food :kind attention , spoiling the brand of Tata and Indians. On 11th of April 2024 , I visit umaid bhavan for lunch and was told that the hotel is sold out for lunch..and as my friend really wanted to check the place out and the dinner slot was available . I requested for dinner, and was asked to pay cover charges for dinner which was 23600.. no other information was provided except the link and we paid the money . We really thought that the place is historic and should visit , so money was nit a concern at all initially . We walked in to the palace ( hardly we could see a human being ) may be because it's fully booked!!!!!!!!!!!(laughs). The receptionist was welcoming, and she really guided me well to get in to the restaurant ... Now a wonderful steward ( very welcoming) greets me and he guides me to my table . A very elaborated menu comes We ordered for 1)one non veg thali @6450 2)one non veg rajputana thali @6450 3) 2 Hoggarden beers @ 750 each 4) one Pina colada @550 Now the real question how . How much can a person eat more than this How much can we drink more than this . But the bill is 16000 So , one thing as informed by the management is . Please drink more beers or drink some thing else. Is this correct ? Is there no value for money? No matter what our prime minister Mr. Narendra modi ji tells , please eat indian food , visit more indian places . Is thus what we get in return . How heavy would it be to let go so much money . If the price of thali was as per cover charge , it would have been understandable. As per the hotel rules , they can't pack any food . What do I do . I really wish , the management (especially Tata group ) must intervene in issues like this , and kindly guide not to do such mistakes just because we want to believe our prime ministers words . First of all Decrease your cover charges or increase your costs of food ... make us realize that the money I am spending is not going for waste .( end of the day money is money).
